Robotic Surgery in Gynecology

Robotic surgery is the state-of-the-art procedure in gynecology. Large abdominal incisions are no longer necessary with the use of the da Vinci system used in robotic surgery. This makes patient recovery much faster than traditional surgery. Most patients are now discharged within 24 hours of their operations. Robotic surgery is used to treat fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian tumors, pelvic prolapse, and female cancers and to perform robotic hysterectomies, robotic myomectomies, and lymph node biopsies.
